I have seen a woman who threw plates at her husband regain her self and recover her peace of mind. I have seen a woman ready to “run away from home” work out her differences with her husband and grown children. I have seen a woman who spent too much money shopping to fill up the hole in her life find a new focus and rebuild friendships instead. I have seen a young girl, afraid of going to high school, develop her inner artist and then find her place in the halls of academia. We often wonder what happens in therapy and we know by the results that it changes lives. Below is a description of my professional training, which is only the beginning of a therapist’s journey. Ultimately, I have learned more from the people I work with than any textbook, however necessary all the training certainly is. Begin therapy and begin taking back your own life.
